ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – A delegation from the Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has arrived in Norway to foster stronger economic and cultural relationships with foreign nations.
Fathi Mohammed Ali Mudaris, an advisor to the Ministry of Trade and Industry, shared with Kurdistan24 on Friday that their visit was prompted by an invitation from the Norwegian parliament to participate in Newroz celebrations at the parliament building.
"This marks the first time Newroz is being celebrated in a Scandinavian parliamentary setting," Mudaris said. "In addition to attending this significant event, we have engaged in meetings with various institutions and decision-making bodies across Norway."
During the Newroz celebration, the KRG delegation highlighted the strategic importance of the Kurdistan Region and called for fair recognition of the Kurdish situation across all four parts of Kurdistan.
Norway expressed deep admiration for the development, stability, and progress achieved in the Kurdistan Region, recognizing its pivotal role in the broader Middle Eastern landscape.
In the wake of the visit, Norway has announced plans to send a high-level delegation representing multiple sectors to the Kurdistan Region in April, marking a further step in the strengthening of bilateral relations.
