UAE Reiterates Commitment to Syria’s Stability During Transitional Phase

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – In a notable step toward reinforcing regional cooperation, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa on Sunday at Al Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi, where the two leaders engaged in substantive discussions on strengthening fraternal ties and enhancing mutual cooperation between their nations.

The meeting, which took place as part of al-Sharaa’s official working visit to the United Arab Emirates, focused on mechanisms to advance bilateral collaboration in ways that benefit both peoples. President bin Zayed welcomed the Syrian leader, expressing best wishes for his success in “leading Syria through its current transitional phase and achieving the aspirations of the Syrian people for peace, development, and stability.”

According to the statement released by the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the talks included a comprehensive review of pressing regional and bilateral issues of mutual concern. Both sides exchanged views on avenues to bolster joint action and regional coordination.

Discussing the latest developments within Syria, President bin Zayed reiterated the UAE’s consistent stance in support of Syria’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national unity. He emphasized that Syria’s stability is integral to the broader stability of the Middle East and underlined the importance of a political path toward rebuilding the war-torn country in a way that secures lasting peace and prosperity for its people.

President bin Zayed further affirmed the UAE’s commitment to mobilizing resources and support to assist the Syrian people during this pivotal transitional period. “The United Arab Emirates will spare no effort in extending all possible assistance to Syria and its brotherly people,” he stated.

The visit of al-Sharaa to Abu Dhabi marks a continuation of growing diplomatic momentum between Arab states and Damascus. It signals not only regional recognition of Syria’s transitional leadership but also shared interest in charting a stable, sovereign, and peaceful future for the country following years of turmoil.
