Under the Supervision of PM Barzani Two Major Energy Deals Signed with US Companies

These agreements, valued at tens of billions of dollars, are expected to significantly impact the development of the oil and energy sector as well as the economic infrastructure of the Kurdistan Region.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – On Tuesday, under the supervision of Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, two energy agreements between the US oil companies HKN Energy and WesternZagros and the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) were signed.

These agreements, valued at tens of billions of dollars, are expected to significantly impact the development of the oil and energy sector as well as the economic infrastructure of the Kurdistan Region.

Steve Lutes, vice president and deputy head of Middle East, Central Asia, and Turkey at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, congratulated HKN Energy on its agreement with WesternZagros Company. He stated, "It is a pleasure to welcome Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and his accompanying delegation to the United States."
