PM Barzani, US Congressman Adam Smith Discuss Bilateral Ties and Regional Developments in Washington

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with U.S. Congressman Adam Smith in Washington on Tuesday to discuss regional developments and ways to enhance ties between the Kurdistan Region and the United States, according to a statement from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the latest political and security developments in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. They underscored the importance of strengthening bilateral relations across all sectors, including political, economic, and security cooperation.

Prime Minister Barzani also stressed the urgent need to form the tenth cabinet of the KRG to ensure stability and the continuation of government services.

The meeting is part of Barzani’s broader efforts to bolster international partnerships and reaffirm the Kurdistan Region’s commitment to peace and progress in Iraq and the wider region.
