ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met on Wednesday with Congressman Mike Rogers, Chairman of the United States House Armed Services Committee, to discuss continued American support for the Kurdistan Region and its Peshmerga forces.
According to a statement from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), the meeting reaffirmed the strong partnership between the Kurdistan Region and the United States, particularly in the field of security cooperation.
Both sides emphasized the importance of accelerating the formation of a new KRG cabinet to ensure stability and governance in the region. The meeting also covered recent developments in Syria and the broader region, with both leaders underlining the need for coordination amid ongoing regional challenges.
The visit is part of Prime Minister Barzani’s official trip to Washington to strengthen diplomatic and strategic ties with the United States.
