Kurdistan Region President, US Secretary of State Discuss US-Kurdistan Region Ties

In a post on the social media platform X, the Kurdistan Region President said he reaffirmed the Kurdistan Region's shared commitment with the United States to peace, stability, and a strong partnership.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani on Wednesday expressed his appreciation for a phone conversation with United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio, during which the two discussed recent developments in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and the broader Middle East.

In a post on the social media platform X, Kurdistan Region President said he reaffirmed the Kurdistan Region's shared commitment with the United States to peace, stability, and a strong partnership.

“I appreciate tonight’s call from Secretary Rubio, during which we discussed developments in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and the wider region,” Barzani wrote. “I reaffirmed our shared commitment to peace, stability, and the strong partnership between the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and the United States, and conveyed our deep gratitude for America’s steadfast support over the years.”
