ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – Football fans around the world are set to witness a historic encounter on Saturday evening as Italy’s Inter Milan faces off against France’s Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany, in the final of the 2024-2025 UEFA Champions League.

This clash marks the first-ever official meeting between the two European giants, adding further weight to a match that will determine the champions of the continent’s most prestigious club competition.

The showdown carries significance not only because it will crown this season’s European champions, but also due to the presence of several star players from nations that have never produced a Champions League winner.

These players include Lee Kang-in (South Korea) and William Pacho (Ecuador) from PSG, along with Mehdi Taremi (Iran), Henrikh Mkhitaryan (Armenia), and Kristjan Asllani (Albania) representing Inter Milan.

Inter Milan enters the final in pursuit of its fourth Champions League title, lifting the trophy in 1964, 1965, and 2010. In contrast, PSG is vying to claim the coveted “big-eared” trophy for the first time in its history, after falling short in its only previous final appearance in 2020 against Bayern Munich.

To reach the final, the Parisian side overcame three Premier League heavyweights – Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Arsenal – while Inter Milan advanced by eliminating Dutch champions Feyenoord, Germany’s Bayern Munich, and Spanish powerhouse Barcelona.

With high stakes and historic narratives at play, tonight’s final promises to be an unforgettable chapter in European football.
