105,561 Individuals Have Applied for Employment with IHEC to Date

According to figures released by IHEC, 2,993 applications were submitted in Erbil, 3,090 in Sulaimani, and 2,239 in Duhok. The highest number of applications came from Basra province, with 12,788 submissions, while Muthanna recorded the lowest, with 2,021 applications.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Iraqi Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) announced on Friday that as of June 6, a total of 105,561 people had applied to be IHEC employees.

IHEC also added that the application process for polling day employees is proceeding smoothly.

The process is being closely monitored by the central committee. According to figures released by IHEC, 2,993 applications were submitted in Erbil, 3,090 in Sulaimani, and 2,239 in Duhok. The highest number of applications came from Basra province, with 12,788 submissions, while Muthanna recorded the lowest, with 2,021 applications.

On April 9, Iraq’s Council of Ministers, by a majority vote, set Nov. 11 for parliamentary elections.

The 2025 vote is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping Iraq’s political landscape as the country continues its efforts toward stability.
