ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Jordanian Armed Forces announced on Friday that Royal Jordanian Air Force jets and air defense systems intercepted several missiles and drones that entered the country’s airspace earlier in the day.
According to an official military source from the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army – the interception was carried out in response to military assessments indicating the projectiles were on course to fall within Jordanian territory, including populated areas, posing a serious risk to civilians.
“The Royal Air Force is operating at the highest level of readiness to protect the skies of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and ensure the safety and security of the homeland and its citizens,” the source affirmed.
The Jordanian military reiterated its round-the-clock commitment to securing the nation’s borders—by land, sea, and air—and stressed that no violations of the kingdom’s airspace would be tolerated under any circumstances.
The statement concluded with a call for public calm, urging citizens not to spread rumors or unofficial accounts that could incite panic, and to rely exclusively on information provided by official sources.
