ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Friday that they successfully intercepted multiple Iranian drones in Syrian airspace, highlighting the army’s ongoing efforts to neutralize regional threats.

Effie Defrin, an IDF spokesperson, confirmed that the drones were shot down before reaching Israeli territory, as part of heightened military vigilance. Israeli warplanes continue to patrol the skies to monitor and respond to any additional threats in the area.

Meanwhile, in neighboring Jordan, heightened tensions prompted authorities to activate an airstrike siren in the capital, Amman. The Jordanian Directorate of Public Security has called on citizens to remain indoors and comply with the official safety guidelines.

“Do not gather in the streets or approach any unidentified objects that may have fallen,” the Directorate warned in a public advisory. Residents were also urged to report any fires or damage from debris by contacting emergency services via 911.

Israel carried out a wave of strikes on Friday morning, targeting the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) headquarters in Tehran and several other sites. The bombings resulted in the deaths of several senior Iranian figures.
