ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced it carried out significant strikes on Israeli targets overnight, claiming direct hits on military and energy installations.

In a statement issued on early hours of Sunday, the IRGC said the attacks were part of its ongoing "True Promise 3" operation, launched in retaliation for recent Israeli airstrikes. The group stated it launched a large number of drones and ballistic missiles targeting key Israeli infrastructure, including fuel supply centers for fighter jets, missile bases, and energy-related military facilities.

According to the IRGC, Iranian air defense systems also intercepted and destroyed three Israeli cruise missiles, 10 large drones, and multiple smaller unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) during the confrontation.

The IRGC warned that broader and more powerful attacks would follow if Israeli strikes continue.

Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News Agency had earlier reported the launch of a new wave of missile and drone attacks under the same operation.

Meanwhile, Arab media reported several missile impacts in the northern Israeli city of Haifa, with fires breaking out in a residential building.

In response, the Israeli military confirmed that missiles and drones were launched from Iran, activating nationwide alert systems and sending civilians to bomb shelters.

While Israeli air defenses intercepted most of the incoming projectiles, officials remain on high alert, anticipating further Iranian strikes.

Israel’s Emergency Services Directorate confirmed that three people were killed and 14 others injured in Haifa as a result of the Iranian strikes.
