Ballistic Missile Lands Near Sulaimani's Qaradagh Sub-District, No Casualties Reported

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – A ballistic missile landed near the village of Tafan in Qaradagh sub-district in Sulaimani province on Monday, causing no injuries or loss of life, local officials confirmed.

Shireen Mahmood, mayor of Qaradagh, told Kurdistan24 reporter Hawzhin Jamal that the missile impacted approximately 500 meters from the town center.

"Thankfully, the missile caused no casualties," Mahmood stated, assuring residents that the situation remains under control.

Local authorities are closely monitoring the situation and have launched an investigation into the origin of the missile. Security forces are also enhancing protective measures to ensure the continued safety of the area’s residents.

The incident, while alarming, highlighted the effectiveness of local emergency response protocols and community resilience.
