U.S. Officials: Iran Prepared to Strike U.S. Bases in Middle East
American officials said that, the U.S. military installations across the region remain on the highest level of alert and readiness, a status maintained for months amid heightened tensions.
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Iran is prepared to target U.S. military bases and assets across the Middle East if it chooses to escalate, according to NBC News citing from two American officials familiar with military planning. However, the officials emphasized there are currently no indications that such a strike is imminent.
American officials said that, the U.S. military installations across the region remain on the highest level of alert and readiness, a status maintained for months amid heightened tensions. These concerns deepened after Israel launched a large-scale military campaign against Iranian nuclear and military sites late last week.
While no immediate action by Iran has been detected, U.S. intelligence continues to monitor the situation closely, particularly given Iran’s declaration of operational success in its recent missile assaults on Israel.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated early Wednesday that it had deployed the first generation of its Fattah hypersonic missiles during the eleventh wave of its “Truthful Promise 3” operation. The IRGC claimed the missiles successfully penetrated Israeli missile defense systems, “shaking the shelters of the Zionists,” and declared full control over the skies above the occupied territories.
According to IRGC commanders, the missile operation marked "the beginning of the end" for what they described as the myth of the Israeli army’s air defense capabilities.
U.S. officials remain on alert, weighing both the strategic calculus in Tehran and the potential for attacks by Iranian proxies across the region.
