Araghchi Slams Western Silence, Praises OIC for Backing Iran Against Israeli Attacks
Iran FM thanks OIC for 'full support' against Israeli strikes, slams West's silence. Warns of growing Muslim outrage as conflict escalates with missile exchanges.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Saturday that Iran deeply values the “full and unequivocal support” of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) amid ongoing Israeli military attacks, and strongly condemned Western governments for remaining silent in the face of what he described as escalating atrocities.
In a statement posted to his official X account, Araghchi emphasized that while Israel continues its aggression against Iran, the West has “turned a blind eye,” not only to attacks on Iran but also to broader assaults on Muslim populations across the region.
“Iran is deeply grateful for the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation's (OIC) expression of full and unequivocal support in the face of the Israeli regime’s aggression,” Araghchi stated.
He warned that the response from Islamic countries is growing, highlighting that Israel’s actions have provoked “unprecedented outrage and a groundswell of solidarity in the Islamic world.”
According to Araghchi, the scale of regional condemnation reflects a shift in sentiment across Muslim-majority countries, who view the attacks not merely as a challenge to one nation but to the Muslim world as a whole.
“The West, having totally lost its moral compass, should take note,” the foreign minister added, underscoring what he described as a stark moral divide in the international response to the crisis.
His comments come at a time when Israeli military operations have intensified across Iranian territory, targeting nuclear and military sites, while Iran has responded with ballistic missile strikes. The Islamic Republic has repeatedly stated that any continuation of its nuclear negotiations depends on an end to Israeli attacks.
Araghchi’s remarks are consistent with Tehran’s broader diplomatic message: that Iran will not engage in negotiations under fire, and that solidarity from the Islamic world represents a vital political front in confronting what it views as unlawful aggression by Israel.
