Iran Strikes Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport After U.S. Bombs Nuclear Facilities

The Iranian strikes came hours after U.S. forces conducted coordinated aerial bombardments of three major nuclear sites in Iran: Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. The attack marks one of the most direct U.S. military actions against Iran's nuclear infrastructure to date.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — Iran's armed forces announced on Sunday that they had launched strikes on multiple sites inside Israel, including Ben Gurion Airport, in response to U.S. airstrikes on key nuclear facilities in the Islamic Republic, according to AFP.

In a statement carried by the semi-official Fars news agency, Iran's military said the attacks marked the “twentieth wave of Operation Honest Promise 3” and involved the use of both long-range liquid and solid-fuel missiles equipped with “devastating warhead power.” Among the declared targets were a "biological research center," logistics bases, and several command and control centers throughout Israel.

U.S. President Donald Trump, who has been vocal on the unfolding crisis, posted a triumphant message on his Truth Social platform following the strikes. “We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. All planes are now outside of Iran air airspace. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home. Congratulations to our great American Warriors,” Trump wrote, before adding, “NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE!”

The sudden and high-stakes exchange of fire between Iran, Israel, and the United States has fueled fears of a wider regional war, with international leaders calling for restraint amid rapidly deteriorating security conditions across the Middle East.

Further details on casualties, damage assessments, or potential Israeli or U.S. counter-responses remain unclear at this time.
