ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Qatar Airways announced on Monday the full resumption of its operations in the Kurdistan Region, marking a significant step toward restoring regional connectivity and strengthening economic ties.
Beginning on Monday, the airline will resume flights to five major destinations in Iraq, which include Erbil International Airport and Sulaimani International Airport, following a temporary suspension earlier this month due to regional security concerns related to the 12-day conflict between Israel and Iran.
In addition to Iraq, the airline will also resume daily flights to Syria starting July 6, with plans to expand to a double daily schedule by July 15. Full flight services to Lebanon’s Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport and Jordan’s Queen Alia International Airport will also resume on July 1.
Qatar Airways initially suspended flights to Iraq, Iran, and other countries on June 13 due to heightened tensions in the region. With improved stability, the resumption signals a return to normalcy and renewed confidence in regional airspace.
