ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Rami Abdulrahman, director of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, told Kurdistan24 on Wednesday that “Ahmed al-Sharaa’s forces have carried out massacres in Suwayda, documented in photos and videos, and the evidence is clear; these massacres are committed on religious grounds in Syria. Al-Sharaa seeks to justify and conceal the crimes committed under his orders, but these narratives are unsuccessful.”

Abdulrahman also stated that, according to available figures, approximately 600 members of the Druze community have been killed, including 140 unarmed women and children, while more than 400 Syrian security forces have lost their lives, 15 of them due to Israeli attacks.

"Additional Druze have been executed by Bedouins. Syria must belong to all Syrians. Syrian tribes possess more weapons than the Syrian army," he emphasized.

Clashes between Druze and Sunni Bedouin tribes have been ongoing for a week following interventions from government forces and the Israeli army, which have escalated tensions.
