Israel Announces Daily ‘Tactical Pause’ in Parts of Gaza to Allow Humanitarian Aid
The daily pause will take place in areas where Israeli troops are not actively engaged in combat — specifically Al-Mawasi, Deir el-Balah, and Gaza City — and will continue until further notice.
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — The Israeli army on Sunday announced a "tactical pause" in military operations in selected areas of the Gaza Strip to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid, amid growing international pressure over the humanitarian crisis in the war-torn enclave.
According to a statement issued by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Telegram, the daily pause will take place in areas where Israeli troops are not actively engaged in combat — specifically Al-Mawasi, Deir el-Balah, and Gaza City — and will continue until further notice.
"The pause will begin in the areas where the IDF is not operating... every day until further notice," the statement said.
The Israeli military added that designated secure routes would be established to ensure the safe passage of humanitarian convoys, allowing aid organizations to deliver essential food, medicine, and other supplies to civilians trapped in conflict zones.
The move comes as humanitarian conditions in Gaza continue to deteriorate, with the United Nations and aid agencies warning of severe shortages of food, water, and medical supplies amid ongoing Israeli military operations and a collapsing healthcare system.
While the IDF emphasized that the pause is limited to specific areas and does not constitute a ceasefire, it is being viewed as a step toward alleviating the worsening humanitarian crisis.
The announcement follows repeated calls from the international community, including the UN and major Western powers, urging Israel to ease humanitarian access into Gaza and protect civilian lives as the conflict stretches into its tenth month.
