ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Monday extended his warmest congratulations to the leadership, board members, and staff of the Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF) on the occasion of its 20th anniversary, commending their tireless dedication to helping vulnerable communities across Kurdistan, Iraq, and beyond.
In a message marking the milestone, Barzani expressed his deep appreciation for the BCF’s long-standing humanitarian work, noting the organization's unwavering commitment to supporting impoverished, displaced, and low-income populations without discrimination.
“I extend my warmest congratulations to the President, Executive Board, and all employees of the Barzani Charity Foundation on its 20th anniversary,” Barzani said. “I also express my sincere gratitude for your dedication and continued efforts to assist the poor and those in need.”
The Prime Minister emphasized that the BCF has become a pillar of humanitarian aid, recognized for its impactful services both within the Kurdistan Region and in other parts of Iraq, neighboring countries, and around the world.
“The Barzani Charity Foundation holds a distinguished and respected position in the field of charity and giving,” he noted. “It offers valuable and commendable services to underprivileged communities not only in Kurdistan but also beyond.”
Barzani also acknowledged the vital partnerships and support from other charitable individuals, organizations, and international agencies that collaborate with the foundation in joint projects and humanitarian missions.
“We hold great respect and appreciation for all benefactors, donors, and organizations that support the Barzani Charity Foundation and implement joint humanitarian initiatives,” the statement added.
Concluding his message, Barzani wished the foundation continued success, stating: “May the anniversary of the Barzani Charity Foundation be a blessed one. I hope it continues to serve as a shining example of humanitarian action and charitable work.”
During an appearance on a Kurdistan24 news broadcast on Monday, BCF head Musa Ahmed reflected on the organization's pivotal influence since its inception. "We have had a role in building the foundation of civil society work in the Kurdistan Region," he stated.
Ahmed also highlighted the BCF's broad scope as a key strength, noting that it operates as a humanitarian donor network in line with international standards. "Unlike other global charitable foundations, most of which work in one specific field, we work in more than 12 different areas, and we will continue to do so," he stated.
The Barzani Charity Foundation, founded in 2005, has played a key role in providing aid to internally displaced persons, refugees, and vulnerable families across the region, earning recognition from both local and international institutions for its inclusive and non-partisan approach to humanitarian relief.
