Kurdish Artists to Join International Art Symposium in Germany
Running from Aug. 15 to 22, the symposium will feature artists from Germany, Russia, Britain, the Arab world, and Iran, along with a significant contingent of Kurdish artists representing all parts of Kurdistan.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — The city of Krefeld is set to host the Art Conference On Top, an international art symposium that brings together sculptors and visual artists from around the world for a week-long celebration of creativity, collaboration, and cultural exchange.
Running from Aug. 15 to 22, the symposium will feature artists from Germany, Russia, Britain, the Arab world, and Iran, along with a significant contingent of Kurdish artists representing all parts of Kurdistan. Among them is acclaimed Kurdish artist Hama Hashim, who described the conference as a dynamic space for “experience and collaboration” among professionals with diverse styles, ideas, and cultural backgrounds.
The symposium emphasizes free artistic expression, encouraging participants to work on-site with a variety of materials and explore themes of their choice. The event’s core concept is rooted in social interaction and shared experience, enabling artists to learn from one another’s techniques and perspectives.
This year’s theme, "Protection", urges participants to reflect on their role in addressing global challenges such as environmental sustainability and humanitarian concerns. In a move to engage a broader audience, the conference will be open to the public, giving visitors a unique opportunity to meet the artists, discuss their creative processes, and observe artworks in progress.
Following the symposium, a joint exhibition showcasing the completed works will be held in Krefeld from Aug. 22 to Sept. 25.
With its inclusive atmosphere and emphasis on dialogue, the Art Conference On Top continues to serve as a vibrant platform for artistic innovation and cross-cultural understanding.
