Pezeshkian Says He Will Never Stand Against Iran’s Supreme Leader

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Friday that his country’s adversaries are pursuing more than military pressure, arguing that their broader strategy is aimed at destabilizing Iran from within, while stressing the importance of national unity and his commitment to the general policies of Iran’s supreme leader.

Speaking on Friday, during a meeting with leaders and activists from Iran’s political parties, Pezeshkian focused on economic pressures and the living conditions of citizens. He said sanctions, disruptions to trade routes, and restrictions on oil sales had reduced state revenues while increasing production costs.

“Today, the enemy’s main plan to bring down this country is not merely military warfare; rather, all their efforts and calculations are aimed at bringing Iran down from within,” Pezeshkian said.

The Iranian president identified internal disagreements as one of the country’s main challenges, but said the public interest must take precedence over all other considerations.

“I have said several times, and I firmly believe, that I will never stand against the supreme leader. For me, unity is above every other value, because if unity is lost, the authority and power of the country will completely collapse,” he said.

Pezeshkian called for Iran’s challenges and crises to be examined from all angles rather than from a single perspective. He also stressed the need for the authorities to listen to the demands of all social groups, particularly young people struggling with unemployment and uncertainty over their future, as well as those expressing concerns and dissatisfaction.

He said all of them are citizens of Iran.

In another part of his remarks, Pezeshkian referred to US and European sanctions imposed on the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

“Imposing sanctions on the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is a sign of their fear and concern over Iran’s defensive power,” he said.
