Iran Security Chief Warns US of ‘New Strategy’ in Middle East War

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Iran’s security chief on Wednesday warned that the United States would face a “new strategy” from Tehran in the Middle East war, following the heaviest exchange of attacks between the two sides in weeks.
Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said the United States would “soon see” a new Iranian strategy on the battlefield, in diplomacy and in confronting the economic blockade.
“With these desperate struggles, you will not only fail to escape the depths of the hell you have created for yourselves,” Rezaei said in a post on X.
The latest US strikes, part of intermittent exchanges of fire since the war broke out on February 28, targeted areas along and east of the Strait of Hormuz, as well as parts of western, southwestern and southern Iran.
One strike on the town of Kuhestak in Hormozgan province killed four people and wounded 68 others attending a wedding ceremony. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei described the attack as a “war crime.”
Iran said it retaliated by targeting US military positions across the region.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry defended the attacks as being carried out in accordance with the country’s “inherent right of self-defense” and called on regional countries to prevent the United States from using their territory to launch attacks against Iran.
Gulf countries have repeatedly said they would not allow their territories to be used to launch attacks on Iran.
The conflict has increasingly centered on the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global energy route that Tehran has kept largely blocked since the war began, while the United States has imposed a naval counter-blockade on Iranian ports.
