President Barzani, Iraqi Communications Minister Discuss Erbil-Baghdad Relations

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — President Masoud Barzani on Tuesday, welcomed Iraqi Communications Minister Mustafa Sanad and his delegation in Erbil’s Pirmam district.

According to a statement from the Barzani Headquarters, the meeting focused on the general political situation in Iraq and relations between the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the federal government.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of coordination among Iraq’s political forces and parties to address outstanding issues, the statement said.

The two sides also exchanged views on developments affecting relations between Erbil and Baghdad.

Relations between the federal government in Baghdad and the KRG in Erbil are defined by ongoing negotiations concerning financial entitlements, oil and gas management, and post-U.S.-led coalition security coordination.
