KRG’s e-Psule Digital Payment Platform Surpasses Three Million Transactions
Through e-Psule, citizens can pay electricity and municipal bills without additional fees using nine participating banks and digital wallet applications licensed by the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI).
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) announced on Tuesday that more than three million transactions have been completed through its e-Psule digital payment platform since its launch earlier this year, marking a milestone in the region’s efforts to expand digital payments.
Through e-Psule, citizens can pay electricity and municipal bills without additional fees using nine participating banks and digital wallet applications licensed by the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI), according to a KRG statement.
The government said it plans to expand the platform by adding more payment channels and government bills in the near future. It aims to process 90 percent of all government collections digitally by the end of 2028.
Launched by Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani in February 2026 and approved by the CBI, e-Psule is part of the regional government’s efforts to modernize public services, simplify bill payments, and encourage the use of digital financial services.
