Iran's FM: Another Strike On Iran Will Not Produce Different Results

Araghchi says Iran is working toward a common understanding with regional countries on a new security architecture and is ready for dialogue, as Trump said Saturday he may strike Iran as early as tomorrow or reach a great deal.

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi declared on Sunday that another attack on Iran will not lead to results different from previous strikes, that Iran is working to reach understanding and a common approach with regional countries on a new security architecture for the region, and that the presence of foreign forces in the region must end completely for peace and stability to be achieved.

"Attacking Iran again will not lead to different results from previous times," Araghchi said, directly addressing the growing signals from Washington and Tel Aviv of a possible post-midterm military escalation.

He added: "We are working to reach understanding and a common approach with regional countries on a new security architecture for the region. We welcome any action to guarantee regional security through the region's own countries and we are ready for dialogue on this subject."

Araghchi also stated: "For peace and stability to be realized in the region, the presence of foreign forces in it must end completely."

The Direct Response To Washington

Araghchi's statements are a direct response to a convergence of American and Israeli signals over the past 48 hours. President Trump said Saturday he may strike Iran and it may happen tomorrow, or Iran may reach a great deal, adding that in either scenario the US wins. US intelligence agencies warned Friday that Iranian preparations to attack Americans throughout the Middle East have reached advanced stages, prompting evacuations from embassies and military bases. Defense Secretary Hegseth made a secret visit to Israeli PM Netanyahu on October 19, and Netanyahu publicly declared that eliminating the Iranian regime is Israel's primary objective.

Araghchi's assertion that another strike will not produce different results echoes the IRGC spokesman Mohebbi's statement on Saturday that at the smallest enemy mistake, Iran's response will be several times greater, and that the enemy's rhetoric is primarily for media consumption and they know their internal situation is chaotic.

The Regional Security Architecture Proposal

Araghchi's call for a new regional security architecture built on the region's own countries without foreign forces is Iran's consistent strategic alternative to the American military presence framework that has governed Gulf security since the 1990s. His statement that Iran welcomes any action to guarantee regional security through regional countries and is ready for dialogue signals Tehran's interest in a diplomatic track with Gulf neighbors even as the US-Iran military confrontation remains active.

The proposal places Iran in contrast with the current US posture of maintaining more than 50,000 troops across the Middle East and operating the Strait of Hormuz under American military escort, which CENTCOM Commander Admiral Cooper described last week as providing transit for 13 to 14 million barrels of oil daily.
