ERBIL (Kurdistan24) — Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with a high-level Iraqi federal government delegation in Zakho on Sunday to discuss the drafting of Iraq’s 2027 federal budget bill, the Kurdistan Region’s share of national revenues, and technical procedures for resuming oil exports, according to the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Department of Media and Information.

The delegation was led by Muhsin Mandalawi, Iraq’s Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs.

The discussions focused on the Kurdistan Region’s share of Iraq’s total revenues under the proposed 2027 federal budget and the disbursement of the Region’s financial entitlements.

The two sides also addressed oil exports from the Kurdistan Region, including the technical arrangements required to resume shipments.

During the meeting, Barzani stressed the importance of protecting the Kurdistan Region’s constitutional rights in the draft budget legislation. He emphasized that the bill should ensure fairness among Iraq’s provinces while respecting the country’s federal system and constitutional framework.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continued dialogue and negotiations to resolve outstanding issues in a way that serves the interests of all parties.

The meeting comes as Erbil and Baghdad continue discussions over budget allocations, financial entitlements, and oil exports, longstanding issues in relations between the KRG and the federal government.
