Yemen Army Says 336 Houthi Fighters Killed in 1,087 Operations
Yemen’s armed forces say 1,087 operations under Operation Fajr al-Yemen killed 336 Houthi fighters across Taiz, Marib, al-Jawf, al-Bayda and other fronts.
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - Yemen’s armed forces said they carried out 1,087 military operations in the past hours under Operation Fajr al-Yemen, killing 336 Houthi fighters, in one of the most detailed accounts yet of the ongoing fighting.
In a statement posted on X on Friday, the official spokesperson for Yemen’s armed forces said the forces are continuing combat operations under the operation, known as “Fajr al-Yemen.” The statement described the 1,087 operations as successful and said they used warplanes, drones, field artillery and rocket launchers.
According to the statement, the strikes hit advanced command-and-control centers, gatherings of Houthi forces and their reinforcements, sources of fire, fortifications, means of movement and supply, and heavy firepower capabilities. The statement described the Houthis as a “terrorist militia.”
In Taiz, the spokesperson said, the armed forces and popular resistance continue raids and counterattacks that have hit positions of high field importance.
Warplanes also launched concentrated strikes on militia gatherings, reinforcements and positions, inflicting what the statement called heavy losses on the Houthi ranks and their capabilities.
On the fronts in al-Jawf, Marib and al-Bayda, as well as the southern and southwestern fronts, monitoring and reconnaissance were combined with concentrated fire strikes.
The statement said these foiled infiltration attempts and efforts to push reserves forward, and limited the militia’s ability to move reinforcements between axes.
The operations resulted in the killing of about 336 Houthi leaders and fighters, the spokesperson said. The statement added that 112 vehicles, armored vehicles, pieces of equipment, supply vehicles and heavy weapons were destroyed or disabled.
The armed forces said they will continue to develop their combat operations “with high will,” pursuing the militia’s capabilities and sources of threat. They also said they are taking the necessary precautions to protect civilians and civilian objects.
