ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Minister of Education Alan Hama Saeed has congratulated Kurdistan24 on its 11th anniversary, praising what he described as the organization's commitment to accurate reporting, responsible communication and national media ethics.

In a message issued Saturday, Oct. 31, the minister said Kurdistan24 had earned his confidence through its coverage of developments affecting Kurdistan and the Kurdistan Region. He also commended its approach to presenting news without sacrificing editorial standards in pursuit of a larger audience.

"As a reader and viewer, I do not only watch the television channel; I also follow all of Kurdistan24's other platforms," Hama Saeed said.

He identified credibility as a defining feature of the organization, saying its reporting places importance on the accuracy of information and the public's ability to rely on what it publishes. He also praised what he regarded as the outlet's attention to national issues and its broader responsibilities toward the Kurdistan Region.

According to the minister, Kurdistan24 favors the quality of its coverage over the pursuit of audience numbers. He described its measured delivery and attention to ethical considerations as features that distinguish the organization in a crowded media environment.

His assessment was also personal. Hama Saeed said he regularly consults Kurdistan24 across its broadcast and digital services, including when seeking to establish whether information circulating elsewhere has been reported by a source he trusts.

"Despite the large number of media outlets in Kurdistan, as a listener, viewer and reader, I always turn to Kurdistan24's television screen, platforms and radio to benefit from them," he said.

The congratulatory message comes as Kurdistan24 marks 11 years since it began broadcasting during the war against ISIS. The corporation operates in Kurdish and five other international languages, with coverage intended for audiences both within the Kurdistan Region and beyond it.

The organization identifies the defense of the Kurdistan Region's constitutional status and the promotion of coexistence among its central commitments. As it enters its 12th year, it has also outlined editorial priorities addressing the demands of an increasingly digital news environment.

Those priorities include checking accuracy before publication, respecting human dignity and family privacy, and avoiding sensational reporting. The organization also places emphasis on responsible coverage that takes account of its potential effects on society's psychological well-being.

Another stated priority is the responsible use of artificial intelligence, particularly measures intended to prevent misinformation from entering news production and distribution. Kurdistan24 says its next phase will involve further digital development and investment in the professional capabilities of younger journalists.

Hama Saeed's anniversary message centered on the standards he believes should guide that work: trustworthy information, restraint in presentation and continued attention to the issues affecting the people of Kurdistan.

He presented these qualities as central to the organization's professional and national responsibilities.
