Kurdistan Journalists Syndicate Calls Kurdistan24 a Pioneering Media Organization
Kurdistan Journalists Syndicate Secretary Hendren Ahmed praises Kurdistan24 on its 11th anniversary, as Kirkuk journalists' representatives offer congratulations.
ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - Hendren Ahmed, Secretary of the Kurdistan Journalists Syndicate, congratulated Kurdistan24 on its 11th anniversary on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026, describing the broadcaster as a pioneering media organization and commending the efforts of its journalists and other employees.
Ahmed's message was among anniversary greetings sent to Kurdistan24 as the Kurdistan24 Corporation for Research and Media marked 11 years since its launch and entered its 12th year of broadcasting. The occasion also drew congratulations from the Kirkuk branch of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, whose chairman emphasized continued support for journalists and stronger professional coordination.
"I extend my warmest congratulations to you and commend your tireless efforts, wishing you continuity and greater success," Ahmed said in his message to the organization.
He also offered an assessment of the broadcaster's place in the media sector, saying, "Kurdistan24 is a pioneering media organization." Ahmed concluded by extending further wishes for its continued success.
The secretary's remarks recognized the contributions of Kurdistan24's employees alongside the organization's work in the Kurdish media landscape. His message focused on appreciation for their professional efforts and encouragement as the broadcaster begins another year of operations.
In a separate message on Saturday, Marwan Ibrahim Aani, head of the Kirkuk branch of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, congratulated Kurdistan24's Director General, staff and correspondents working in Kirkuk.
Aani said his syndicate would continue providing support and assistance to journalists so they could fulfill their professional responsibilities effectively. He also stressed the importance of maintaining cooperation and communication between media workers and the syndicate, including efforts to improve coordination and the organization of their work.
While Ahmed highlighted Kurdistan24's standing and the work of its employees, Aani focused on the professional conditions in which journalists carry out their duties. Both messages were issued as the broadcaster commemorated its founding and looked toward its next year of operations.
Kurdistan24 began broadcasting 11 years ago during the war against ISIS, a period when developments in the Kurdistan Region attracted considerable regional and international attention. Its programming is carried in Kurdish and five other major international languages, allowing the organization to reach audiences beyond Kurdish-language broadcasting.
The corporation identifies defending the constitutional status of the Kurdistan Region and promoting a culture of coexistence as part of its national media mission. These commitments remain among the principles it has reaffirmed while marking its anniversary.
As it enters its 12th year, Kurdistan24 has also outlined editorial priorities governing how it produces and presents news. They include placing accuracy ahead of speed and respecting human dignity and family privacy, rather than relying on sensational coverage to attract attention.
Another stated priority is promoting hope and safeguarding society's psychological well-being. The organization links these commitments to its broader responsibility toward audiences, alongside its emphasis on factual reliability and professional judgment in reporting.
Its anniversary principles also identify the responsible use of artificial intelligence as an important consideration. Kurdistan24 says its approach to the technology is intended to prevent misinformation, placing that responsibility alongside accuracy and privacy in its editorial standards.
The organization is also preparing for a new phase of digital development and investment in the capabilities of young journalists. According to its stated plans, those efforts will proceed without compromising the national and professional principles it considers central to its operations.
The congratulations from Ahmed and Aani accompanied an anniversary in which Kurdistan24 reaffirmed its intention to expand its digital capabilities, develop younger media professionals and maintain its commitments to accuracy, human dignity and responsible journalism.
