Kurdistan Prime Minister receives outgoing Indian ambassador to Iraq

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received on Wednesday the Indian Ambassador to Iraq, Birender Singh Yadav, on a trip to the region as his posting ends.
“The Prime Minister praised the ambassador's efforts during his tenure and his role in strengthening India's relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, wishing him success in his upcoming postings,” a statement on the KRG website read.
Indian Consul General in Erbil, Subhash Chandra Kain, was also in the meeting.
Ambassador Yadav expressed his sincere appreciation to the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) for hosting the Indian mission and expressed his country's readiness to facilitate improvements in bilateral Iraq-Kurdistan Region relations.
India has maintained a consulate general in the Kurdistan Region's capital of Erbil since 2017.
