ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani has headed to Germany to attend the 2022 Munich Security Conference, after completing a two-day official visit to Qatar.

The 58th Munich Security Conference will be held from Feb. 18 to Feb. 20. Though senior officials from the US and different European and Middle Eastern countries will participate, fewer international leaders are expected at the event due to the ongoing pandemic.

On the sidelines, Prime Minister Barzani is scheduled to meet senior Middle Eastern, European, and US officials to discuss the threat of terrorism, the security situation in the region, and strengthen the Kurdistan Region's ties with the international community.

Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani is also on his way to Munich to partake in the conference.

Last Tuesday, the premier was in Doha on a two-day visit, during which he met top Qatari officials, including Prime Minister Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani.
