ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The Spanish-Kurdish race car driver Isaac Tutumlu on Saturday collected a trophy for the Kurdistan Racing Team after finishing in third position in the GT World Championship at the 2023 SRO Awards in London.

"It has been an amazing season, and we achieved some very impressive racing results for the Kurdistan Racing Team. The team delivered a strong performance, from the car to the drivers, and everyone involved,” Tutumlu told Kurdistan 24.

He continued, “This is why we secured the third position overall in the GT World Championship in the ProAm class. This accomplishment means a lot to us, considering the challenges of competing in a world championship and consistently ranking in the top five. To finish in the top two or three consistently, including winning the last race in the finale, is truly remarkable. Special thanks to our victory in Barcelona, which contributed significantly to [us] securing the third position in the championship.”

Moreover, he said his achievement is not only a win for the team but also a source of pride for Kurdistan. “It motivates us immensely to keep pushing forward. As we look ahead to the next season, we are actively working with different companies for continued support.”

“With the backing we are securing, we aim to not only maintain but possibly increase our level of support. This will enable us to strive for victory, and we are optimistic about the prospects for the upcoming year. We are elated and highly motivated to continue fighting for our country, Kurdistan."
