ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan24) – The security forces of the Rojava Administration arrested on Saturday Ibrahim Bro, the leader of the Kurdish National Council in Syria (ENKS), in the city of Qamishlo.

Security forces known as (Asayish) arrested the ENKS leader as well as the head of the Kurdish Union Party Sleman Oso.

On Friday, an organization close to the Democratic Union Party (PYD) released a statement accusing ENKS of standing against the Rojava revolution and Rojava Administration project.

The statement said that ENKS would be brought to justice adding that the party’s officials should be prevented from entering Rojava.

Ibrahim Bro in an exclusive interview with the Kurdistan24 in June 2016 said that “being a partner with PYD is very hard as it tortures and kidnaps the politicians that are against its policy and burns their offices,” stating that

“Although sometimes we did not resort to protests in the past for the demonstrators’ safety, we will carry on our rallies, and the situation may reach the extent of an uprising,” he said.

“We will no longer bend our heads for PYD’s dictatorial practices and autocracy,” Biro added.

Biro warned that the escalating situation that PYD caused may lead the people of Rojava to revolt against them.
