Companies from 10 nations to participate in Erbil fair for investment, real estate in September
ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The Kurdistan Region’s capital of Erbil will host a major investment and real estate exhibition in the coming fall with wide local and international involvement, especially from firms in Middle Eastern nations.
The organizers of the 2nd International Fair for Investment and Real Estate said in a statement that companies from European and Asian countries will also take part in the exhibition along with major businesses inside Iraq and the autonomous Kurdistan Region.
It will run between Sept. 7 - 10, with companies representing Turkey, Iran, UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Lebanon, Cyprus, China, and Italy.
Participating companies will span various sectors, including those related to investment, real estate, residential projects, buildings, equipment for construction projects, in addition to those in contracting, banks, financial and credit institutions, sales, and shopping centers.
In September 2019, organizers of the 1st International Fair for Investment and Real Estate worked with more than 150 companies from 10 foreign countries.
The second exhibition was scheduled for late 2020, but was delayed due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic the year before.
Before the outbreak of COVID-19, Erbil hosted up to 20 international exhibitions in various fields during 2019, however, no exhibition was held throughout 2020.
Organizers wrote that this year's fair aims to stimulate the economy in the Kurdistan Region by promoting real estate investment and giving "greater opportunities to invest in the Kurdistan Region and urges participating Arab and foreign companies to expand their investments in the real estate sector."
In June, Erbil organized the HITEX exhibition for information technology, which prompted pioneers to present their ideas in the largest IT-centered event in the whole of Iraq.
