PM Barzani and Peace and Freedom Front’s Jarba discuss resolution to Syrian conflict
ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour and Ahmed al-Jarba, head of the Syrian Peace and Freedom Front, stressed the importance of solving the crisis in that country in a just manner serving the interests of the people of Syria.
The Peace and Freedom Front was formed in August 2020 in areas controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces in northeast Syria with the aim of uniting the Syrian opposition, including the Kurdish National Council and other political groups.
“Prime Minister Barzani received al-Jarba today, and held a meeting during which they discussed the latest developments in Syria and the region in general,” a statement on the KRG website read.
The two discussed the international efforts to end the war in Syria, as well as relations among Syrian Kurdish political forces and the Syrian opposition.
According to the statement, they stressed the importance of resolving the conflict in a fair manner in a way that serves the interests of people in Syria.
