Iraqi Federal Audit Bureau delegation to visit Kurdistan next week: KRG spokesman
ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – A delegation from Iraq's Federal Financial Supervision Bureau will visit Erbil next week, Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) spokesman Jotiar Adil said during his weekly press conference on Wednesday after a council of ministers meeting.
The council discussed Erbil-Baghdad coordination on pressing issues during the session, Adil explained, noting that the federal delegation's visit comes at the request of the KRG and that it would meet with the region's financial supervision office.
The two sides met in January to conduct an audit of KRG's financial expenditures and revenues.
Adil has previously indicated that the KRG is open to meeting Baghdad's financial transparency requirements, amid chronic disputes over the Kurdish government's share of the national budget.
The spokesman also added that KRG ministers discussed the latest on the COVID-19 pandemic and the migrant crisis. The council reauthorized relevant ministries to continue to take measures to limit the spread of the hyper-contagious coronavirus.
Prime Minister Masrour Barzani detailed his UAE visit and its outcomes during the session, Adil said.
