PM Barzani pays tribute to victims of 2004 bombings in Erbil

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani laid a wreath at the Feb. 1, 2004 bombings in Erbil to pay tribute to the victims of the deadly terrorist attacks.

The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) officials, foreign diplomats, and relatives of the victims took part in the 20th anniversary of the deadly bombings in Erbil along with Prime Minister Barzani at the martyrs' monument at Sami Abdul Rahman Park, the largest park of the Kurdish capital renamed after one of the victims of the deadly bombings. 

On Feb. 1, 2004, two terrorists targeted the headquarters of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) in Erbil with two massive bomb attacks that killed more than 100 people, including prominent leading members of both parties.
