PM Masrour Barzani welcomes new Turkish Consul General, discusses strategic projects

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - Kurdistan Region’s Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received Erman Topçu, the new Consul General of Turkey in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRG).

According to a statement issued by the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), Prime Minister Barzani congratulated Topçu on his new role and emphasized the importance of developing bilateral relations based on mutual interests.

"The Prime Minister also discussed the importance of implementing the Development Road Project that will connect Iraq, Turkey, and Europe by rail," the statement noted.

He highlighted the need for participation from the Kurdistan Region and all Iraqi communities in this strategic project.

The Turkish Consul General expressed his pleasure in assuming his duties in the Kurdistan Region and reaffirmed Turkey's desire to further enhance relations with the Kurdistan Region across various sectors.
