Fire erupts in Mamzian village, Duhok province: no casualties reported

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – A fire broke out in the village of Mamzian in Duhok province, according to Brigadier Hassan Khurshid, Director of Civil Defense in Duhok.

On Thursday, June 27, 2024, Brigadier Khurshid informed Kurdistan24 that the fire ignited in the plain of Mamzina village in the Mazuri region of Duhok last night. The Civil Defense team promptly responded and successfully brought the fire under control.

"There were no casualties," Brigadier Khurshid confirmed. He attributed the cause of the fire to the negligence of citizens who ignored environmental protection guidelines during their walk.

The Civil Defense Directorate urges all residents to adhere to environmental safety practices to prevent such incidents in the future.
