KDP President Masoud Barzani to meet up with Politicians in Baghdad

President Barzani attends a series of meetings with the political parties’ leaders and high-ranking officials in the Iraqi Federal Government and the Iraqi Federal Parliament on Wednesday.

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) - Kurdistan Democratic Party KDP’S President Masoud Barzani arrived in Baghdad on Wednesday. It is the first time since 2018, President Barzani visited Baghdad, he was warmly welcomed by many governmental officials and advisors in Baghdad airport.

President Barzani and a number of Kurdistan Region’s Governmental and political delegates such as Minister of Interior Rebar Ahmed, the Chief of Staff to the Council of Ministers in the Kurdistan Regional Government Dr Omed Sabah, KDP President’s advisor Dr. Arafat Karam Stuni, Hemin Hawrami and Azad Barwari (the political party’s members of KDP), Khalida Khalil the Barzani headquarter spokesperson and other KRG’s officials.

The welcoming officials in Baghdad were the Iraqi Federal Parliament President’s Deputy Dr Shakhawan Abdulla, Minster of Foreign Policy Fouad Hussain, Minster of Defense, Minster of Planning who is also the Iraqi Federal Prime Minister’s Deputy, Minster of Reconstruction and Rehousing, Minster of Work and Social Welfare, Prime Minister’s advisor, Parliament President’s Advisor, SOMO Co.’s President, and other high-ranking officials.

President Barzani will attend a series of meetings with the political parties’ leaders and high-ranking officials in the Iraqi Federal Government, and the Iraqi Federal Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, on Wednesday.

The meeting agenda includes Iraqi Federal Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, Shadow Iraqi Parliament President Muhsin Mandalwi, President of the Federal Supreme Court Council of Iraq Faiaq Zedan, officials of the State Management Coalitions, Head of the Al-Hikma National Movement Amar Hakim, Head of the Sunni Sovereignty Alliance Khamis al-Khanjar, Head of Sunni Taqadawmi Coalitions Mohammed Albousi, as well as to meet with the UK, USA, French, Russian, Iranian, Turkish Ambassadors and other Ambassadors of the Arab countries.

The following topic are to discuss in the meeting: suspended issues between Erbil and Baghdad, gas and oil law, budge, Kurdistan Region’s employees’ salaries, Kirkuk local authority formation, Article 140, Shingal cause, and electing the new president for the Iraqi Federal Parliament.

It is expected this visit contents all the issues and finds solution for the majority of the on-hold issues between Kurdistan Region Government and Iraqi Federal’s.
