KDP President Masoud Barzani, Chinese Ambassador discuss key political issues

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) President Masoud Barzani on Wednesday received Cui Wei, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China, in Baghdad, according to a statement from Barzani Headquarters.

The dialogue centered around Iraq's current political landscape, with President Barzani outlining his reasons for visiting Baghdad and engaging with Iraqi political factions. He emphasized the importance of addressing the ongoing issues between the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the Federal Iraqi Government, highlighting national interests.

Ambassador Cui Wei expressed his satisfaction with President Barzani's visit to Baghdad and affirmed China's support for resolving the disputes between Erbil and Baghdad. He also expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming Kurdistan parliamentary elections.

The meeting also covered the strengthening of relations between the Kurdistan Region and China across various sectors, signaling a commitment to enhanced cooperation and mutual support.
