Following Prime Minister’s Recommendation Kurdistan Region Health Database established
Minister of Health pointed out the reason behind postponing such important project was due to the crisis the region went through, including ISIS terrorists attack on the region, the region’s fighting against the terrorists and the covid-19 pandemic.

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – A conference about setting up a digital system to collect all health data in one unified health database from all over Kurdistan's Region held in Erbil on Thursday July 18, 2024. The conference was arranged as a result of the cooperation between the ministry of health at the Kurdistan Regional Government and Italian Roma University.
The Kurdistan Regional Government’s Minister of Health, Saman Barzanji stated to the press after the conference ended “Establishing such system followed the Primer’s recommendation so to link all the ministries, governmental organizations and agencies, as well as to improve the health services in Kurdistan Region.

Barzanji underlined all the efforts made by the Kurdistan Regional Government, the 9th Cabinet, PM’s visit to Italy and meeting with the relevant parties concluded setting up such system.
According to Barzanji’s explanation a meeting was held between the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Premier and the Supervising Team of the program HIS in Kurdistan Region, the program was supervised by Professor Leonardo and Tornado Vernat from Roma university,”
Barzanji referred to “With a signed agreement, collaboration with Roma University, and the Consul General attending, more progressed level, broadened way and capabilities the program started up.”
