Kurdistan security forces foil crystal meth smuggling attempt using school books

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The Kurdistan Region Security Council (KRSC)'s Anti-Narcotics Directorate announced that laboratory tests revealed several school books were covered with crystal meth.
According to a statement from the KRSC, the operation was based on initial intelligence information and involved close monitoring and follow-up by the Anti-Narcotics Directorate.
The statement detailed that the attempted smuggling operation aimed to transport drugs into the Kurdistan Region and subsequently transit them to the United Kingdom. However, the operation was thwarted due to the vigilance and expertise of the security forces.
Following the order of the investigating judge, one suspect was arrested, and all the "school books" were confiscated. The suspect has been detained under Article 26 of the Combating Drugs and Psychoactive Substances Act.
The KRSC highlighted the importance of their ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and ensure the safety and security of the Kurdistan Region.
