ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – A powerful heat wave is set to sweep across Iraq in the middle of this week, marking the second significant heat wave since June.

According to weather experts, the intense heat will impact various regions of Iraq, with southern areas expected to bear the brunt of the soaring temperatures, which could reach up to 51 degrees Celsius.

The heat wave is anticipated to last for three days, from Wednesday to Friday, although its effects might linger until the end of the month, particularly in southern Iraq.

Despite this looming challenge, meteorologists have noted that this summer has been comparatively milder than previous years over the past decade.

Authorities are urging citizens to take necessary precautions, especially in the most affected areas, to mitigate the risks associated with extreme heat.
