Disappearing weapons in Iraqi military unit
A committee has been formed and sent out to the base to investigate further.
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – A source from an Iraqi Security side disclosed to an Iraqi press network on Thursday, August 29th, 2024 (p.m.) “more than two hundred pieces of weapons disappeared from an Iraqi troop regiment in western Iraq,”
Without giving much details, the source stated “more than 200 hundred Kalashnikovs and 16 guns, have been stolen from that Iraqi military base,”
Depending on the source from the Iraqi security side, all began with a complaint made from a military unit, noticing the number of Kalashnikovs and pistols in the base were getting lower.
A committee has been formed and sent out to the base to investigate further.
Furthermore, it was mentioned the source that the robbery took place over a long period of time ‘about a year, at different times.
