More than 100 tons of tomatoes exported to Baghdad

“About 150 to 200 tons of potatoes exported to Syria, while 25,000 tons exported to Qatar, UAE and the Gulf countries," Murad added.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – On Monday, General Director of Agriculture in Erbil, Hemin Sayed Murad, stated to Kurdistan 24 “the total amount of different agricultural products was around 720,000 tons, about 500,000 tons of it was exported to the south and middle of Iraq, and more than 200,000 tons were sold out, locally, in Kurdistan Region”

“We have given about 28 thousand 500 supports out to farmers so far, to be allowed to export their products” Murad added “about 150 to 200 tons of potatoes exported to Syria, while 25,000 tons exported to Qatar, UAE and the Gulf countries,"

He, further, highlighted that more than 100 tons of tomatoes exported to Baghdad last Saturday September 2nd, 2024.

According to the agricultural expertise, it viewed that to maintain a balance between farmers supply and people’s demand. The further prices to drop, the more farmer suffer, so export phase started alongside the cheap prices.

The development in agriculture continues in Kurdistan Region, as well poultry, farmers who are interested in animal breeding increased in the region under the ninth cabinet’s ruling.
