Election Campaign Set to Begin for Kurdistan’s Parliamentary Elections

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – On Saturday, Marwan Mohammed, head of the Erbil office of the Iraqi High Election Commission, announced that the election campaign for the upcoming parliamentary elections will begin this week.
In a statement to Kurdistan24, Mohammed noted that two candidates are currently facing issues that must be resolved within the next two days. If the problems are not addressed, their respective parties will need to appoint replacements.
Once the candidate list is finalized, the election campaign will officially commence.
The campaign period will run until 24 hours before the general election, scheduled for October 20. This will be the sixth round of parliamentary elections in the Kurdistan Region.
According to the latest voter registration data, 2,899,578 individuals are eligible to vote in the Kurdistan parliamentary elections, with 2,685,000 already having received their voting cards.
