ERBIL (Kurdistan24) – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Saturday extended heartfelt congratulations to Muslims worldwide in honor of the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad, as conveyed in an official statement from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).

"I offer my warmest congratulations to all Muslims in Kurdistan, Iraq, and across the globe on the occasion of the birth of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him," Barzani stated.

The prime minister expressed his hope that the occasion would inspire joy and strengthen the culture of unity, compassion, charity, and the peaceful values that the Prophet embodied through Islam.

Muslims in the Kurdistan Region marked the annual celebration on Sept. 15, gathering for prayers, singing traditional hymns, and playing the Kurdish Daf, a revered instrument in religious and cultural ceremonies.

Festivities were also held at Erbil's historic citadel, adorned with decorations to commemorate the special day.
