126 projects operated in Sheikhan

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – The Governor of Duhok, Ali Tatar attended the ceremony for an important building plan of the Sheikhan-Lalish Highway, on Saturday in Duhok Province.

Tatar stated “the Sheikhan-Lalish highway will serve the Yazidi brothers and sisters and pilgrims to Lalish in the region, and that is a sign of coexistence” 

The foundation stone for building the Sheikhan-Lalish highway was set by the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Prime Minister, Masrour Barzani on Saturday, in Duhok on Saturday.

There used to be always traffic jams, now building this highway is expected to ease the travel for road users, and significantly to reduce traffic accidents.

Demonstrating the government's commitment to providing essential services to all areas in Kurdistan Region.

The Governor of Duhok also added “after Prime Minister’s visit to the area in the recent months, he set an important project, where the Prime Minister decided to build a major road for the area, and today he operated his decision”  

“During the ninth cabinet, with the Prime Minister’s care and attention to services, a total of 1314 projects worth 2 trillion and 190 billion dinars, in Duhok province,” Tatar confirmed “Other projects in the private sector are 65 projects worth 1 trillion 89 billion dinars”

According to statement made by Mr. Tatar, out of the total projects in Duhok, 161 projects have been for Shekhan town, with a cost 196 billion and 587 million dinars.

It is understood that from the 161 projects, 126 have been operated to serve people, 15 more projects are under process to apply, and the rest of 20 projects are in the process of tendering.

“There are more villages in Sheikhan than in Amedi, recently, we decided to serve more villages, thus we have not fallen behind in this regard” he said.
