Sulaimani Health Directorate announces emergency medical preparations for KRG parliamentary elections

ERBIL (Kurdistan24) - The Sulaimani General Directorate of Health announced on Saturday that comprehensive medical emergency measures will be implemented during Sunday's general voting for the Kurdistan parliamentary elections.

According to the directorate's Media and Communications Department statement, 25 rapid emergency medical teams will be deployed throughout central Sulaimani city on Election Day, following recommendations from the General Director of Health.

"All hospitals, health centers, and emergency departments in Sulaimani city will remain open on standby, with ambulances available until the completion of the voting process," the statement detailed.

"Medical teams will be stationed at 24-hour health centers throughout the election period," it added.

The health authority emphasized that citizens can contact emergency services at 122 in case of any medical emergencies or incidents during the voting process.

These preparations demonstrate the health authorities' commitment to ensuring public safety during this crucial democratic exercise. The comprehensive emergency response plan includes:

- 25 rapid response medical teams

- Fully staffed hospitals and health centers

- Available ambulance services

- 24-hour medical personnel on standby

- Emergency hotline (122) for immediate assistance

This initiative represents part of the broader efforts to ensure a smooth and secure voting process for the Kurdistan Region's sixth parliamentary elections.

The general voting is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 20, following the successful completion of special voting for security forces on Friday.

The emergency medical preparations reflect the authorities' dedication to maintaining public health and safety during this significant democratic event, ensuring that voters can participate with confidence in the electoral process.
